Structured Wiring
Structured wiring offers clients the ability to wire
their homes with cables for video, telephone, data,
entertainment, management, automation, and control.
Everything is run through the inside of the walls,
eliminating visible wires. Rooms can contain enough
outlets to give clients the maximum use of the
wiring, both now and for the future. This means you
can finally put the television anywhere you want,
regardless of where the cable comes into the house
and you will have the flexibility to expand with
your family's future growing needs.
Structured wiring is a concept
that anticipates the present and future electronic
needs for every room of your household. Structured
wiring systems can be thought of as the electronic
backbone or foundation for your home.
As telecommuting grows in
popularity, digital and High Definition television
becomes the standard, and the Internet and TV
signals integrate and become staple items in
American households, "future-proof" wiring
techniques become a necessity for anyone building a
home today. The research firm, Parks Associates,
reported that 48% of all new homes will be pre-wired
with structured wiring by this year (2004).
Structured wiring opens many
possibilities for homes. Television can be networked
to allow everyone in your house to watch the same
show from a single DVD player. Your computers can be
networked to share files, internet connections, and
even a common printer. Home offices can be built
with separate phone lines for voice, fax, modem,
computer networking, and rooms can be prepared for
both cable and satellite reception. These are just a
few examples.
A home built with structured
wiring can be added to gradually, as client needs
and budgets allow, but the backbone wiring
infrastructure must be there since day one. The
wiring for structured wiring should be installed
before you fill your wall cavities with insulation
and cover them with drywall. After the structured
wiring is in place, systems can be developed at
whatever pace suits the client's needs.
Smart Wire Solutions can design
and install there structure wiring systems at
pennies per square foot of new home construction.
Whole Home Audio (Music) and
Video
Enjoying music in every room of
the house is simple enough: You plop down a few boom
boxes or string a little speaker wiring, and presto,
your entire house sings. But that's hardly the best
way to tune a new home. When walls are open during
construction is prime time to have Smart Wire Solutions, Inc. pull wiring to all corners of the
house. Because of this, and a growing consumer
demand for whole-house music, more and more builders
are offering to have Smart Wire Solutions, Inc.
pre-wire a house for sound.
Rooms to which wire is commonly
run include the family room, the kitchen, the master
bedroom, the master bath, and the patio. After the
wire is installed, it's often your call. You leave
the wire behind the walls and later have Smart Wire Solutions, Inc. add speakers. A more
economical and elegant choice is to have Smart Wire Solutions, Inc. attach speakers right
away. That way, they can easily be built into the
walls and ceilings, creating a clean music listening
environment.
Of course, speakers are only part of the sound
solution. Clients will also need a receiver, an
amplifier, and, of course, a CD player (or some
other music source such as a digital audio server).
Even if your builder hasn't caught on to the
whole-house music trend, it's just as easy to hire
Smart Wire Solutions, Inc.'s professional
audio/video consultants and installers to handle the
job. They will work seamlessly with your builder
throughout the project and you will have greater
control of the outcome. In fact, Smart Wire Solutions, Inc. will probably offer more speaker and
equipment choices and suggest great ways to
customize the system to suit your home and your
taste in music. Just be sure to request Smart Wire Solutions, Inc. early enough in the
planning stage to allow them and the builder to
communicate right away, so that the whole-house
music system fits into the construction schedule and
the home's architectural style.
Whole House Music offers, from a single source, and
with a keypad, touch screen, or volume control in
each room (zone), clients can hear and control music
throughout the home. One person listens to Bach in
the living room, while another works out to more
rhythmic riffs in the rec room. Speakers by the pool
can be built into walls or take the appearance of
rocks in the garden.
More advanced systems will allow clients to manage
their CD and DVD library through their computer or a
touch screen in the room - choose a title from
hundreds of compact discs or MP3 tracks and play it
automatically. Music can help shape the mood for
every area.
Home Theater / Surround Sound
The term home theater is a very
relative term. The smallest level of home theater
consists of a hi-fi VCR, and a stereo TV. All that
is needed is wiring to run from place to place in
order to connect everything. However, when someone
mentions the words "home theater", it is understood
that there is at least a 27" TV, a Dolby Pro-Logic
receiver, and a Hi-Fi VCR. The bare bones, for the
speaker set-up is a four speaker set-up: Left and
Right for the front, a Center speaker, and a
Surround Speaker. More commonly you will find two
surround speakers as well as an independent
subwoofer, as well as Laserdisc player or DVD
player. With all of these combined, you will be in a
pretty good home theater set-up.
The highest-level home theaters can easily reach
prices upwards of $50,000. These usually consist of
Data-grade or Graphics-Grade Front Projectors as
well as a high-precision screen. The speakers that
are chosen for these theaters are very often THX
certified. There are usually at least 2 powered
subwoofers, and five or even seven or more speakers
throughout the room. A separate processor and
amplifiers power each of the speaker, rather than a
receiver handling all of the speakers. As for the
room itself, it is usually decorated with curtains,
plush seats, and sound absorbing wall treatments, as
well as a system center that has EVERYTHING in one
spot, including lighting. Some people go even as far
as to have a "lobby" outside their theater. Anyone
who achieves this level of home theater is
DEFINITELY a fanatic.
The whole purpose of home theater is to have a nice
big picture, as well as deep-bass handling sound and
surround sound. A very good home theater set-up will
rival or even beat out the local movie theater in
terms of quality of picture and sound.
If a home theater simply the
ability to listen to movies in Surround Sound is
what you aspire for, Smart Wire Solutions, Inc.
can help. They have access to components, speakers,
and packages from a few hundred to many thousands of
dollars. The only limiting factor is usually the
client's budgets and imagination.
Lighting Control
One of the most important
aspects in creating a beautiful home is lighting
design. At Smart Wire we work with you and your
architect to provide a wide variety of lighting
features for your home that will enhance your decor
and provide you with the highest level of
sophistication and flexibility.
Control and monitor the light
in your home from one or more Master Control
locations.
Create a path of light by simply pressing one or
more Master Control buttons to light a pathway
through your home, i.e. from your master bedroom to
the kitchen. Consolidate switching with sleek
Master Controls that reduce the number of switches
on your walls for a clean attractive appearance.
Create preset scenes of lighting that match your
activities and mood and that can be recalled with a
touch of a Master Control button. Save energy with a
glance at the Master Control which shows what lights
are on, enabling you to turn all lights off with a
touch of a button. Increase security in emergencies
by simply pushing the ALL-ON button to illuminate
all home lights, or integrate your lighting and
security systems for peace of mind. Use vacation
mode lighting by having your system replay your
lighting patterns to simulate occupancy.
As a dealer for many varied companies, Smart Wire
Solutions designs the system for you as well as
trains the electrical contractor to do the
installation. We also provide system programming and
support for your home.
